It's the end again, things wrapping up only to begin new around the corner. I can't believe the WB cancelled "Angel"! They are such fools. Reality TV is winning - what mindlessness. At least FOX gave Tru another season and what a season that should be. If the writers don't blow it, it should be more than a typical good vs bad. They should touch on the ramifications of changing what should have been, which has far reaching consequences. Every change has ripple effects that effect everything. Just think how many people everyone touches and if you take them out of the equation, or put them back in. I'll be getting to something in the end...
On Angel, for those that watch and REALLY get into it, this past season had some really deap thoughts (erin, this one's for you). We never win (the good guys, that is), our problem is we expect to win the fight, the bad guys just know the fight is part of every day. Winning ends everything. The whole point is not to let the bad guys get control of you, change your mind, your actions because they think thier way is the "right" way. This season was about selling out, going along with the plan to "hopefully" further your agenda. And what happens - they win, either you so wrapped up in the small stuff that they work thier dealings while you're occupied or you get sucked so far into the game you start blending in - losing who you are. By the time you realize it, we could lose you. When Angel was a puppet many moons ago, the message of kids being brain washed by watching all of the "correct" crap on TV was apparent and powerful. In the end end Angel understands that he (we) can only win small battles to hopefully slow "them" down. And there will be casualties. You have to fight for what you believe in or fall prey to the "bad guy." After Angel Investigations won the battle, the bad boys were so pissed that they sent an overwhelming amount of demons to end Angel - we don't see the result - it just ends...
So with that and the opening paragraph on how everybody touches everyone else...the lesson is to be you, fight for what you feel is right, no matter what the cost, and pass your feelings on to others without the expectation that you will convince them or they will respond in any way to you. But you never know, you may help them see the light, not the day but maybe it will click later in life.
Oh this goes really deep...
